Fernando Gonzalez 
It started just like any other day for Fernando, an appliance repairman from Austin, Texas. That morning he was called out to make a minor dryer repair in a nice golf course subdivision he had never been to before. Just as he was writing the bill there was a crash and Fernando looked up to see a wall of flames rolling towards the large floor to ceiling windows. Without thinking twice he bolted towards the door, carrying along with him the stunned homeowner.  

A small plane had crashed into the house-miraculously, Fernando and the homeowner escaped unhurt. To this day he keeps in contact with the family, but doesn’t consider himself a hero. “I did what I needed to do, and I’ll do it again if I have to.”
